Sherri Brokopp Binder, PhD

Sherri Brokopp Binder is the lead researcher and president of BrokoppBinder Research & Consulting. She holds a PhD in Community and Cultural Psychology from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa. Her research is focused on community resilience and disaster recovery, and includes qualitative and mixed-methods studies on the 2009 South Pacific tsunami in American Sāmoa, Hurricane Sandy, the Moore, OK tornadoes, and Hurricane Harvey. Dr. Binder is an affiliate researcher with the Center for the Study of Disasters and Extreme Events at Oklahoma State University and co-founder of the Collaborative for the Social Dimensions of Disasters, a collaborative network of social scientists that helps communities and organizations prepare for, withstand, and recover from the impacts of disasters.
